The Ritual

Brew it properly.

No shortcuts. No bags. No sad teaspoon of overstewed dust. Here is how to do this tea justice.

Step 01

Leaf

1 tsp

One teaspoon of loose leaf per cup. Use more if you want it bolder.

Step 02

Water

Fresh

Filtered, freshly boiled. Reboiled water flattens the smoke.

Step 03

Temperature

95–100°C

Just off the boil. Hot enough to coax out the pinewood.

Step 04

Steep

3–5 min

Three for clarity, five for full campfire intensity.

Three ways

How to drink it.

01

Black

Pure intensity. Smoke, oak, resin. The way it was made to be drunk.

02

With Milk

A small splash softens the smoke and brings malt and oak forward. Try it.

03

Iced

Brew double strength, pour over ice. Surprisingly refreshing. Rebels only.
